During 2009-2010, Environmental concerns received increasing publicity from activist and grassroots orgainizations such as the Damascus Citizens for Sustainability and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network. Several activist videos appeared condemning the drilling industry for its seeming indifference to the public's worries about possible contamination of drinking water. The industry soon responded with a few of its own videos.
