Kansas City, MO-based Inergy LP (NASDAQ: NRGY) is a large propane marketing and distribution company serving customers in the mid-West and East Coast of the United States. Among other related activities, Inergy operates a natural gas storage business that has been mentioned as favorably positioned in Pennsylvania and New York for storing gas coming from the Marcellus shale formation.
Inergy Midstream, LLC, a 100% owned subsidiary of Inergy LP, was in the process of developing the 43 mile Marc I Hub Line, a 24 inch pipeline connecting an Inergy's lateral pipeline off The Tennessee Gas Pipeline's 300 Line and Transco's Leidy Line. Both interstate lines cut through Bradford County, PA where this Inergy interconect is located.
According an August, 2008 Inergy press release, the CEO stated that Inergy's goal is to:
