Schlumberger Ltd (SLB.N) is one of the largest oilfield services companies in the world. It provides pressure pumping technology for Marcellus shale wells.

According to a February, 2009 report the company purchased 90 acres of land in Horseheads Center, a few miles north of Elmira, New York for new offices to service the natural gas drilling in the Southern Tier. It will be used for a truck depot, a laboratory, and clerical activities.

Andrew Gould is the company's CEO.
