Arbor Resources of Michigan was reported in September, 2008 planning to drill in Nockamixon, Pennsylvania. This location is not in the Marcellus shale although the rock formations are similar.

Permits from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection were obtained to drill on two properties in Nockamixon.

An October, 2008 report states that over 300 leases have been signed between landowners in the Nockamixon area with Arbor.
