Arbor Resources of Michigan was reported in September, 2008 planning to drill in Nockamixon, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. This location is not in the Marcellus shale although the rock formations are similar.

Permits from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection were obtained to drill on two properties in Nockamixon. These permits are for vertical wells. The wells are targeting the Stockton and Passaic rock formations.

An October, 2008 report states that landowners in the Nockamixon area have signed over 300 leases with Arbor.
