Bridgeport, West Virginia-based Mountain V is an oil and gas production company focusing on West Virginia. According to a fall, 2010 news account the company owns and operates 441 oil and gas wells and controls 46,000 acres primarily in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. It has drilled over 520 wells since it was founded in 1994, and drills approximately 100 new wells per year. As of that time, it had drilled 7 Marcellus shale wells and one that was still in progress.

A May, 2009 report found the company leasing land in the north central West Virginia County of Upshur. It was planning to drill one or more vertical Marcellus shale well(s) and possibly (an)other Devonian well(s).
