Tenaska Resources, LLC is a natural gas exploration and production company formed in 2008 by Tenaska Energy, Inc. The latter is a large, privately-held, diversified public utility headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. The parent company is among the top ten natural gas marketers in the U.S.

The company is in the process of acquiring Marcellus shale leases in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and plans to start a drilling program there.

An April, 2009 report found a landman representing Tenaska leasing land near Metz in rural Marion County, West Virginia a few miles miles northwest of Fairmont, West Virginia.
