St. Marys, West Virginia-based Trans Energy Inc. (TENG.OB) is an oil and gas exploration and development company focusing on the Appalachian Basin. It has drilled a four vertical Marcellus shale wells. The Wetzel County Anderson-7H well is its first horizontal one. The company owns drilling rights in four northern West Virginia counties: Doddridge, Marion, Marshall, and Wetzel.

James K. Abcouwer is President and CEO of Trans Energy.
