Houston, Texas-based Allied Technology is a diversified company that manufactures pipes and pressure vessels incorporated into products for the oil and gas industry.

Allied was in the news in September, 2010 when it announced plans to open a 30,000 sq. foot manufacturing plant in Westmoreland County, PA to serve the Marcellus shale drilling industry. It was to help supply sand separation equipment, dehydration units, and steel storage tanks among other items. In addition to manufacturing, the plant was to provide design and engineering services, welding and fabrication, as well as painting and sandblasting. The facility was to be located at the I-70 Industrial Park in South Huntingdon Township and employ 100 workers.

Construction on the building was to begin in September, 2010 and complete in the spring of 2011.
