In February, 2009 ECCO Energy Corp. announced that it was purchasing 40 producing wells in 11 eastern Ohio counties from Samurai Corp, Inc. This includes working interests in leaseholds previously owned by Ohio-based Lake Fork Resources, LLC and M-J Oil Company. 40 producing wells were included in this acquisition, 11 of which are prospective for Marcellus shale. The company plans to recomplete the Marcellus wells. The wells are currently producing 240 mcf/d of natural gas and 23 barrels of oil per day.
