Centennial, Colorado-based Running Foxes Petroleum Inc. made a losing bid for development rights to the Cambria County, Pennsylvania Borough of Ebensburg's 1300 acres that were up for bid in August, 2008. GFI Oil & Gas had the winning bid, but in January, 2009 failed to make a scheduled payment for the lease.

Running Foxes has a 50-50 partnership with Bristol, England-based Osceola Hydrocarbons Ltd in developing a Marcellus shale leasehold centered on acreage leased by the latter company for a Coal Bed Methane (CBM) drilling project in Cambria County. The joint venture presently has 6,000 acres under lease that are prospective for Marcellus shale and is building up its lease position.
