Houston, Texas-based Weatherford International Ltd. (aka Weatherfor Fracturing Technologies) (NYSE: WFT) is one of the largest diversified upstream oilfield service companies in the world. Its Fracturing Technologies Group provides hydraulic fracturing services.

Weatherford was in the news in December, 2009 when it was in the process of opening a facility specializing in Marcellus shale hydraulic fracturing in Buckhannon, West Virginia in northcentral West Virginia's Upshur County. The company also has a well fishing and completion facility in neighboring Jane Lew, WV and a logging one in nearby Weston, WV. The company's regional office is in Charleston, WV.
